Our New Field-to-Glass Artisan La Mare Gin

We are thrilled to introduce our latest creation—a gin that truly encapsulates the heritage and history of Jersey. Our new ‘La Mare Gin’ is not just any gin; it’s a unique spirit that we’ve crafted from the very essence of our island, using organically grown apples harvested directly from our estate’s own orchards.

The Spirit of Jersey

Unlike most gins that are distilled from grains or potatoes, we wanted to do something different, something that honours Jersey’s rich apple-growing tradition. Dating back to the late 18th century, when orchards covered 16% of our island, apples have always been a part of our history. By choosing apples as the base for our gin, we’re not just making a spirit—we’re celebrating a piece of Jersey’s past and bringing it into the present.

Triple Distilled

Every step of the gin’s journey—from field to glass—happens right here on our estate. This means that each bottle is a true reflection of Jersey’s heritage. We start by creating an apple-based eau de vie spirit, which then goes through a meticulous triple distillation process in our Alembic Charentais Distillery. To this refined spirit, we add a carefully curated blend of botanicals, including pink peppercorn, orange and lemon peel, chamomile, and cassia bark. The result? A gin with a light, floral, and earthy profile, perfectly balanced with a fruit-forward flavour and a classic botanical finish.

For us, it’s not just about making a great gin—it’s about doing it in a way that respects our land and our environment.
